Recognised as High Quality
In 2016 Natalie Pearl was recognised for her contribution to the local dance scene through being awarded GOLD in her category, at the 2016 Dance School of the Year Awards.
“Joining First Position was a pivotal moment in my awkward teenage years…what I became a part of for the next 6 years was much more than just a school. The entire ethos behind First Position gave me all the tools I use in my professional work today.”Dylan Mason
Many of First Position’s senior dancers have gone on to successfully audition for dance colleges and dance jobs, and many of the current students wish to follow in these footsteps. The school does not only give students the tools to do well in auditions, but helps students decide which dance colleges or jobs they may want to audition for. Miss Natalie then does her best to mentor and guide them in preparation.
Not all students that dance at FP want to move into dance as a profession, but information and preparation about further professional training is always offered to students who desire this, as well as job opportunities that may be good for a particular individual. Aside from the students who go on to pursue performance careers, many have also gone on into other industries with great success, and credit their time at FP for giving them the confidence and self-belief to discover themselves.
“I cannot thank Natalie enough for all of the opportunities she gave me. She was able to give me an insight into professional entertainment, so not only did I have fantastic performance opportunities, I discovered my career. I always danced for social reasons, I never wanted to have a career in dance, but this didn’t change the way that Natalie treated me. I was always pushed to fulfil my potential and she always believed in me, far more than I did.”Nadine Povey
